Introducing Aivy SAMi: smarter Microsoft licence optimisation
A few weeks ago, we shared that Aivy had achieved Microsoft Solutions Partner for Modern Work status and that we were developing a new way to help organisations make better decisions about Microsoft licensing, cost, security and adoption.
That capability is now live.
Meet Aivy SAMi
SAMi is Aivy’s Software Asset Management and optimisation service for Microsoft environments.
It brings authorised Microsoft tenant data together in one place and turns it into clear, prioritised findings.
The idea is simple:

SAMi looks beyond licence inventory alone. It brings together areas including licence utilisation and cost, security and account risk, productivity and adoption, Copilot usage, renewals and commercial actions.
The objective is not simply to find licences to remove.
It is to help organisations make better decisions about what to retain, reassign, resize, secure, investigate or adopt.
Start small or keep optimising
We have designed SAMi around three service levels.
SAMi Assess is the low-friction entry point, providing an initial view of licence position, findings, savings opportunities and upcoming renewals.
SAMi Optimise adds deeper and ongoing analysis across licensing, usage, Copilot, security, renewals and historical optimisation.
SAMi Managed combines the optimisation capability with Aivy managing the ongoing Microsoft licensing and renewal relationship.
Customers using Assess or Optimise do not need to change their existing Microsoft provider.
Early adopters wanted
SAMi is available now, but we are deliberately treating this first stage as an early-adopter period while we continue to refine the experience, reporting and commercial packaging.
We are particularly interested in organisations willing to use the service and tell us what works, what does not and what would make it more useful.
Feedback is built directly into the SAMi portal, allowing users to rate individual features and leave comments as they work through the service.
Early adopters will also get closer access to the Aivy team, support interpreting initial findings, early visibility of new capability and preferential launch terms for paid SAMi services.
Safe by design
SAMi uses authorised, read-only Microsoft access for analysis.
It does not automatically make changes to a customer’s Microsoft environment, and customers retain control of their tenant and their existing Microsoft relationship.
